Kahlyn D. Ussery
Kahlyn is my first child and the reason I've come as far as I have in life. It was just she and I alone against the world for a long long time, and wanting better for her kept me going when all I wanted to do was curl into a ball and cry.

Kahlyn was born when I was 13 days shy of 20 and had a lot of medical issues. By the time she was 5 we had seem more emergency rooms than we had playgrounds. But through it all she maintained a happy attitude, an untainted innocence, and a great big mouth that is not shy about telling you what's on her mind. (She gets that from me.)

Now, going on 10, Kahlyn describes herself as funny and weird. She likes Science, Art, Gym and Music... she plays the viola and kind of the flute.. but not really. Because REALLY wanted to do that... but she changed her mind. It "hurt her ears." She likes to watch TV, play the Wii, and play computer games... but not so much any of that out of doors stuff. Her new favorite thing to do is play with her baby brother and sing, loudly and through her nose, to make him smile.

Kay is coming to that age where mommy is the last person in the world she wants around, but when these rotten tween/teen years are over I know we'll be good friends. I love my Kay Kay so so much. She's my first little princess and the key to my heart. We have our (VAST) differences... but she's still the center of my universe and I love her with all my heart.
